Map project
Connected to the production of the main exhibition new maps of the area were made. They show different borders during several time periods. The maps are accessible through the Iink below:

Šaamšiǩ / Great-grandmother’s hat
Venke Tørmænen from Pasvik is a Skolt sámi, and the Skolt sámi women’s hat «ŠAAMŠIǨ» is one of the strongest indicators of belonging in her culture. In the film «Great-grandmother’s hat» Venke sews her own hat, and we can follow the process, while learning more about Skolt sámi history on the Norwegian side of the border.

Sää´mpihttâz / Sámi clothes
In the video Sää´mpihttâz, you can get information about som of the outfits in the previous exhibition Sää´mpihtâz. Venke Tørmænen tells about the Skolt sámi clothes and Elin Magga describes the Sør-Varangerkofta. The film is produced by Govas film AS. The video is in Norwegian.
